Very mild for December.....

Today our high was 55--in December! But be ready because tomorrow through the end of the week will be ccccold. And we'll probably get snow because of the quick change in temperatures.
I'm still doing interval training. Yesterday, first day in December I exercised since Dec. 1 was Sunday, I upped my mph in both segments. Today I was "resting" at 2.5 mph for 90 seconds and running at 4.5 mph for 30 seconds. Yes, I could tell a difference even though it was only .5 mph in both segments. But, I can also tell I'm in better shape since I'm not winded walking up stairs nor on our "gently rolling" driveway to the mailbox.
The scale is now in the 230's, so I'm pleased to see that, but I need to watch the food intake to make the loss "stick."
I use a couple of other food diaries--just because I like to make sure I'm getting "true" readings on calories (Remarkably, similar limits in all 3.) In the others, I get an "allowance" because of my exercise. That, according to them, gives me "extra" calories for my food intake. BUT, if I want to lose, I need to be eating FEWER calories and not adding to my budget. So, I'm going to do as SparkPeople does, not count the exercise--just stay within the budget given as if I didn't exercise. Then, by eating fewer calories and continuing to exercise I should continue to lose. I may reward myself once in a while by eating to the "new" limit on special occasions, but I will make sure I don't do that regularly. I'll need to be very choosy for food options so I get the most full feeling from the least amount of food. AND stay out of the kitchen when I am hungry.

    Stay warm and continue to keep on track as you're doing a great job and have it down. I, too trust Sparkpeople as my go-to for accountability and to keep me on track. Interval training is the way to go and I'm working on that myself. Keep up the good work! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
