Time to turn my focus again....

Wednesday, December 04, 2013

To say the least, 2013 has been a trying year, but also a learning experience. As far as my health is concerned, I really fell off the wagon. I never really returned to a regular workout regime, after hurting my back (way back in the end of Decembler LAST year), until last month. Sure, I worked out, but not consistently. And I believe I may be able to count on one hand the number of times I tracked my nutrition in that same time span.

Naturally, this lack of commitment manifested itself in weight gain, and I gained back 15 pounds of what I had lost. I don't have the heart to change my weight ticker on my Sparkpage. I know I will return to, and go further than, that 72 kg mark. When I finally realized what I had done, I was very upset with myself, but still I remained positive, knowing that I have "done it before, and I can do it again". However, I still have been struggling to get back into my groove.

Today, the light bulb finally came on. My focus has been on losing weight, rather, getting BACK to that 72. I finally remembered what it was that helped me to lose weight in the first place. I STOPPED trying to lose weight and I started focusing on my health! My initial focus was to change my lifestyle for the better. To replace bad habits with healthy ones. Once I began to do that, the weight started to come off naturally.

So it's time to refocus on my health. After all, that is my ultimate motivation. Sure, I want to have a great bod someday, but what matters most is my health and anything I can do to improve it. Here's to new beginnings! Again! emoticon
