An Ongoing Challenge to Master Maintenance

It is hard to believe that I've been working at mastering maintenance for four years now, and though it is easier in some ways, it is harder in others. emoticon I don't know where you are in your journey, but if you're like me, maintaining our current weight and fitness is something that we can never let escape our thoughts for long, else the pounds start creeping upward and we start finding excuses to exercise.

SparkPeople gave us the tools emoticon to lose through the nutrition tracker, articles, support of other members, as well as challenges. At first, I was challenged enough though daily tracking and Spark Points. Over the course of years, these things remained important, but the accountability found through Spark friendships emoticon proved to be the one ingredient that kept me active in SP, and helped me stay in my 5-pound target range.

In mid-2011, I responded to a post on one of my maintenance teams to become a "Master of Maintenance" on one of the Biggest Loser Challenge Spark Teams. Though I had been maintaining for 2 years at that time, I knew that I was starting to mentally slip and could see that unless I changed things up a bit, that I may completely lose my focus and slip completely back into my old unhealthy habits. emoticon Late in the summer of 2011, BLC 17 got started and I found a whole new world of actively posting and encouraging maintainers and ones who had maintenance within their sights. The maintenance chat, encouragement, weekly challenges, and weekly weigh-ins were just what I needed. emoticon emoticon

BLC 24 starts in mid-January and I am looking as forward to the start of it as I looked forward to my first BLC.

When you join, go through the first three steps of the General Team Discussion Forum. The maintenance team is called the "Powerful Prism Panthers." We know that it takes a different kind of support and encouragement to continue to walk the road of maintenance (or near maintenance) year after year, and you'll find it with us. emoticon

The first week starts with a weigh-in on January 16. The registration will likely close a week before that, so if you think you'd like to join, please don't delay!

    emoticon on 4 years maintaining! Being aware you might need a tune up is huge. Catching it before it gets out of control will mean continued maintenance success!

    I have to get back to my goal before I can even think about mainyaining...
    I did get to goal however i then let the bad habits straight back in and UGH!!!!
