Happy New Year 2014 and a quick Update :-)
Saturday, January 04, 2014
Hey guys! It’s been way too long since my last update. Wow, I accomplished so much in 2013, where do I start? Well first off I only lost about 27 pounds last year and guess what I am more than happy with that. I started this journey at 288 pounds (much larger at one point in life I am sure) and dreamed of being 180 pounds (hence the name Purple180, lol) but as I approached 180 I knew I could do much more so I set my eyes on 150 (ya know that magic number). Well today I sit here at approx 162 pounds and I couldn’t be happier.
I learned something in 2013; I learned that it is more than the number on the scale it is about how I feel, look and all that I can accomplish. I can honestly say that I am in the best shape of my life (cliché I know but TRUE). I ran my first official 5K race in 2013 and I look forward to running my first half marathon in 2014. There was a time when I could not even walk a half mile without being winded and to accomplish this is amazing within itself. I have also taken up weight lifting (no ladies you will NOT get all bulky and scary looking) and although my weight stayed the same (165 pounds) from June until early December I lost 2 pants sizes going from a size 10 to a 6. I credit lifting heavy weights, plus it (weight lifting) really shapes the body (in my opinion).
I just wanted to touch basis with you guys as I know many of you are wondering what the heck is going on with Purple180. I still log on almost daily to log my workouts but I track my food and workouts on MyfitnessPal as well so I spend a great deal of time over there (love you guys to pieces). I am so proud of you all, many of you are trucking right along even with life obstacles that are set in your path. Midnighter1, I am so proud of you, no matter what you are always there for not only me but everyone else even if it’s just a note of encouragement you always reach out. Thank you and I am so happy to have you as a SparkFriend. Wishing you ALL the very best in 2014 and may your goals and dreams come true. Remember if you can dream it you can achieve it and FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION.
