Great Sunday

So I took my lunch to church today because usually people a lot of carbs. I ended up eating one of the lady's sandwiches. Only half, but she makes the best chicken, turkey salad. It has nuts and other yummy things in it. I had my salad and my turkey. I never thought of putting pecans in chicken salad. She put walnuts, but has put pecans in it too. The bread was whole grain. I walked for 30 minutes so hopefully it helped walk it off.
Something that my pastor said is so true, and we all know it and someone had a blog about it too:
"We are what we eat. "
I can definitely attest to that. I ate so much fat and sweet stuff that it was very unhealthy, and ended up with diabetes. I think that if more people realize that statement is true not only in their physical, but spiritual lives they would think twice before they ate unhealthy food, spiritual and physical. I have to really think about this too. I think now that I eat more healthy than I used to, I'm a much happier person, and like myself more. I used to hate myself.
Also have been noticing that more places are offering healthier options. Dunkin donuts is offering sandwiches under 400 calories. I'm sure they are loaded with sodium, but at least the option is there. Someone blogged that McDonald's also offers a lower calorie mcmuffin I think. Anyway, I don't eat at McDonald's but glad they are offering lower calorie options.
