no progress

Wednesday, January 22, 2014

I have followed a good diet and I have exercised, maybe not as much as I should have. I have been walking Bo every day for a week....
Depressing! Almost 3 weeks into the "new" me and my pants are still tight!
Log food - check ( in range)
exercise at least 30 minutes a day - check
drink 8 glasses of water - check
5 a day - check

breath in breath out, I did not get this way in a day and it will not take a day to get back to being the "real" me.

Some times you have to play with the calories going in or how much exercise. Some times you could be in calorie range in here, but your body could still be going into starvation mode. So when I get stuck, I try to see if eating a little more or a little less helps, or exercising a little more or a little less. Sometimes it can just be a guessing game. Changing up your exercise routine every other day or so is suppose to help too. Just keep plugging away at it and it will happen. And like they said you could be losing inches and not lbs, or building muscle which weighs more than fat. All my best to you always.

Congratulations on staying on program! That in itself IS progress! Did you also take body measurements at the beginning of your restart? It's possible you are losing some inches, just not enough for loose pants yet, and the pounds will catch up!

Good suggestions here from Kelliebean and WDIPIM....Hang in there! Think about if you had not restarted, and were not rockin' out your routines, would you have a gain???

Keep that mindset. It doesn't happen in three weeks. I've learned this lesson MANY times over the past 20-some years. Consistently make healthy choices every day and you will get there.

Try spreading out activiity throughout the day, add a couple brisk walks in the day, even if it's only 10 minutes each. Take a minute and jog up some stairs. I try to do that every day in addition to my workouts to keep the metabolism fired up all day long.

You are doing great. keep it going!

You may be in range - but watch starches (my problem). I also eat more fish and it seems to help me drop. good luck
