Wow.
30 days of hangin' Mentally Tough in my personal life! I told myself this was it, and I am doing it. I have lost some weight, refined some eating habits and learned to listen when I tell myself no! I've picked up my physical pace...a bit... and am going to start adding exercise to my routine. Considering the frequency of snow around here I get plenty of arm and back workouts.
I am pleased yet unhappy about the progress at work. Now that the major discovery phase is over and I identified the issues, it's time to make the major changes. We officially terminated the staff who were outright dangerous and now I need to coach the current staff into compliance. It's pretty simple. You do the right thing and no one gets hurt. Follow the procedures, ask questions instead of "faking it" or doing it your "special "way and we all can sleep at night. We, meaning me and a few administrators, now that they are in the know.

But what they aren't prepared for is after the discovery phase is the acknowledgement phase...I still need to disclose my discovery to the regulators. They'll come swooping in like vultures on road kill. That's going to be another round of non-stop days. The nice thing here, if there is a nice thing, state and fed workers are all about 9-5 days and no weekends!

Exercise is just around the corner as soon as I can ditch the cops!

I hate compliance visits from the state. We aren't nearly as regulated as your field is and it is a major pain in the butt. I find that if you ask how their grandchildren are, they are nicer to you and less likely to bust your chops just because they can. But then again, these guys work under Chris Christie.

Good job... and what happened to my subscription e-mails? Going to have to reset this up! I must have not followed the link... all it takes is once! I did not mean to ignore you. Serious mental toughness going on there!

p.s. they are predicting 4 - 7 inches for us... not a boatload, but enough to be a good workout on a corner lot with a double wide driveway! emoticon

The regulators will probably be a lot happier now that the clean up has begun. Getting rid of the toxic staff is always a good beginning.

So far, so good. And whoopee on the weight loss! Keep going with that, and when the exercise kicks in you will be off like a rocket.
Funny that about 9-5, my colleagues and I must have missed that memo.
Another day in the garden awaits!
