OFF THE POT AND ?

A few days ago, I wrote a blog about "poop or get off the pot". Just a little update on this blog.
I am extremely happy to say that I am still within the realms of my friend. She is wonderful. She is one of those friends that is dedicated to friendship - never gives up on her friend and continues to support and encourage. One of those people that everybody needs as a friend.
Anyway, I am now and have been off the pot and it feels so good. My food choices have been so good and really was not that difficult to do. Seems that once you make a decision that health, comfort in being able to do some things I couldn't do before, and just plain oh feeling good, the strength seems to be stronger. I have prepared good foods for snacks, prepared and froze some good protein, have salad makings ready for immdiate use, and purchased some of those little cans of veggies for lunch. Preparation for going forward does make it easier to eat healthy instead of just grabbing something quick. Well, actually, these preparations makes "grabbing something easy" is possible.
My exercise has been almost null because of the broken ankle. But I also decided to not let that be an "excuse" to dump exercise completely. I brought my 4 & 5 pound weights to the den to use. Must say that my arms are really getting strong :o). Have also researched and there are many chair exercises that I can do with the one good leg. So, people, unless you are bedridden, their is not excuse, let alone a tru reason, to not exercise.
If you are sitting here reading, I would rather you get up from the computer and use those few minutes to get in some exercise. Add a little something to the way you do your housework and get in some exercise that way. Putting up clothes after folding them - be inefficient - carry everything one at a time to put them up. Sweep those floors that you can instead of vacuuming them. Walk from one room to the other the long way through another room. Bend over a little more or do a squat when putting the dishes in the dishwasher. Walk in place every time you can. If you have a big exercise ball, move your chair away from the computer and sit on the ball. Now, do you get the idea????? No excuses allowed.
I may not be able to walk. I may not be able to do my water aerobics, but by darn, I can do something
I really don't know if I have lost any weight during these trying days with the ankle broken, but I feel good about myself and that is so very important. The scale is not the only measurement I have learned to use to measure my small successes.
So, my "pot" has been retired for the time being, and I WILL leave it where it is, even if only day by day.
