New Strength Program Day 1
Monday, March 03, 2014
I follow a lot of running and healthy living/exercise pages on Facebook. A few weeks ago one of them posted about a strength training program starting March 3rd what would involve a private support/accountability group. I jumped at the chance, purchased the program, and eagerly awaited today. The program promises huge results, and my completely logical self is a bit skeptical, BUT I need a strength training program to stick to and more than that, I need extra accountability.
I started the program this morning, and let me tell you, my arms are JELLY! I decided to blog about it so that I could look back in a week and two weeks, and three weeks when I do this same workout again and see progress.
I used 3lb weights for all of the exercises thinking they would be too light....not so much. I won't list the actual exercises (since it is a program you pay for and all) but I will list me success/difficulties etc for my own records.
The first exercise was hard, but I managed it, by the end I was struggling a little, but not too too much.
The second was perhaps the hardest, I couldn't complete all the reps with full range of motion and good form, this is something I seriously need to work on.
Three and four are different versions of the same move and they were HARD. I could barely complete the last rep of each, my arms were shaking and it was shear will that made it possible.
Five I think I could use a heavier weight for. I finished with a little fatigue but no difficulty.
Six I could also use a heavier weight for, again, fatigue, a little bit of shaking, but no real difficulty. I noticed a big difference between the control in my two arms thought, my right was a lot shakier.
The last was another one I could use a heavier weight for, I didn't really struggle with it at all, I found this the easiest. I can feel it a little now, after the fact, but I think I could up it.
Overall I'm tired and my muscles are sore, but I am really proud of the fact that I got this done.
Day 1 = complete.
