A 6-Month Journey in 2 Pictures
Saturday, March 08, 2014
I'm pretty darned excited about a picture that was just emailed to me. It's the first time in about 20 years that I've looked at a group photo and thought "I look completely normal! I look GOOD!" For all those past years my overwhelming thought every time I viewed myself in group photos has come like a big smack in the head - "OMG, I'm HUGE!" This new photo, and my experience of seeing it, has been a great affirmation of my commitment to restoring my health, and all that entails.
As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, so here is my journey of the last 6 months (really 5 months plus a week!) in two photos.
First picture was taken on September 20. I'm the one in the middle, in the black-and-white herringbone check top. (This photo shocked me! Ugh!)
Second picture, with some of the same people, was taken last Friday, February 28. I'm the third person from the right. (This photo also shocked me - but in a good way!)
I still have far to go to my final goal and maintenance, and I know that the second half of my journey will probably go more slowly, but this before/after photo experience is great encouragement along the way! Woo Hoo!!!!
