Who is up for an April Challenge????

We are finishing up our March Fitness Challenge and I am SO thrilled with the impact it has had -- on myself as well as for many of the Mad Fitness Marcher participants!!!!

Some of the folks from our March challenge have gotten so much out of it, that we are talking about doing a challenge or two in April as well. There is interest in a fitness minutes challenge AND a nutrition challenge. Right now, we are talking about doing TWO challenges!!! They would be:

Each participant will commit to a certain number of days per week that they will stay within their calorie range. I can then do the math (based on your weekly commitment) on how many days for the whole month that you commit to staying in your range.

The fitness challenge for April would have 2 pieces:

1) Commit to a certain # of fitness minutes for the month -- for those who have done March's challenge, I would encourage folks to maybe increase their April minutes over their March minutes. For example, I committed to 1000 minutes in March. For April, I think I will increase it to 1150.

2) Identify one form of exercise you are going to add at least once a week that is not part of your normal routine. This will add the "change" element that several of you have requested. For me, I think I will probably commit to 30 minutes of gardening a week. Since I have just been able to get back into my gardening, this is a kind of exercise I haven't been able to do in months.

In order to really do these well, we would need a volunteer for each challenge who is willing to lead it. If we can get two leaders, I would be willing to do all the admin stuff for them :) I just can't imagine running two challenges and not burning out :(

    I loved the March challenge so much that I am interested in being a part of it.

    I am more interested in the fitness part of it, but need to pray about a strategy to succeed. I did switch back to recumbent bike and succeeded today, as compared to the past two days with my bum foot and ankle, but that is harder for me to do as many minutes as the treadmill.

    If it weren't for my injury, I would consider leading it. I just am not sure where I am in the process this month yet. I am committed to keep going with fitness, but am not sure I can best or even come anywhere close to my March total, unless I am healthy. I am more hoping to not have to drop to half or less of my March total.
