Our March Fitness Madness was such a HUGE success, that we hve folks that really want to continue into April - YEAH!!!! So, if you are looking for a fitness challenge for April, this is the place for you!
One of the great things about this challenge is that ANYONE can join at ANY TIME!!!! If you have friends from other SP teams that want to join, that is GREAT!!! We would love to have them! If someone wants to join on April 29th, that's A-OK too!!!
Welcome To......................APRIL ANTICS!
HOW THE CHALLENGE WILL WORK
The APRIL ANTICS Fitness Challenge will have two parts:
SHAKING IT UP - Adding a new form of exercise
Each participant (I can't WAIT to see what we end up calling ourselves - lol) will commit to adding 1 kind of exercise that isn't part of their normal routine and do that form of exercise once a week. For me, I am probably going to add gardening because I haven't gotten to do it all winter ;)
Once you decide which "new" form of exercise you are going to include once a week, please post that up on the APRIL ANTICS messageboard (the link for the messageboard is at the end of this blog).
TIME IS PRECIOUS - Setting a personal goal for your April Fitness Minutes
All of the participants will post up on this messageboard how many minutes you want to commit to for April.
*** If you are a NEW participant (you were not a Mad Marcher - grin), then this month will be your baseline goal. Please post up how many fitness minutes you want to complete in Aprilon the APRIL ANTICS messageboard (the link for the messageboard is at the end of this blog). :)
*** For those participants that were a part of March Fitness Madness and met or execeed their March goal, I recommend you increase your minutes by at least 10%, unless you are at 2000 minutes or more. If you met 1000 minutes for March, then you could bump it up to at least 1100 (of course, you can go higher if you would like). Please post up how many fitness minutes you want to complete in April on the APRIL ANTICS messageboard (the link for the messageboard is at the end of this blog). :)
*** If you were a Mad Marcher and you hit 2000 minutes or more for March, you can decide if you want to increase it or not. Please post up on this messageboard how many fitness minutes you want to complete in April :)
*** If you didn't quite make your goal for March, I would recommend you keep it where it is. I personally leave my goals in place until I achieve them. It helps me from setting myself up to miss it twice. Once you decide how many minutes you want to complete in April, please post them up on the APRIL ANTICS messageboard (the link for the messageboard is at the end of this blog).
What's In It For YOU??????
Each participant who is active in our challenge can look forward to:
Weekly goodies for folks who are on track, for the top performers of the week, and for the folks who have the highest percentage month-to-date of their goal
PARTY!!! Our messageboard is REALLY active! So be prepared to laugh, cry, exchange ideas and inspirations with each other :)
Support and companionship: I promise you will get out of our challenge what you put in!!! In March, I had the priviledge of watching lots of new friendships bloom, I got some amazing support from my fellow Mad Marchers (which is what we call ourselves), and there is nothing better than tackling life's challenges with friends :)
Information and ideas: I post up a weekly progress report so everyone can see how the team as a whole is doing. I am a TOTAL geek and love, love, LOVE data, and analysis, and reports - yippee for me!!! So, you all get to reap the benefits of my geek-ness :)
We also share lots of ideas and thoughts about different forms of exercise, handling life's challenges, how to change our mindsets so that our goal is NOT to lose weight -- it is to live an active, healthy, BALANCED life - mind / body / soul. That includes learning new and healthy ways to celebrate our successes :)
A new way to experience exercise as FUN!!!!! So many of the folks that were in the March Fitness Madness Challenge expressed total surprise at how easy getting in their exercise became because they were having FUN with everyone as we tackled it together!
If you would like to join us, we have a messageboard set up under the 40 Somethings 50-99 Lbs To Lose team. It is set up under this particular team because it makes it easier for me to lead and manage the challenge :) BUT, you don't have to be any particular age or have any specific minimum amount of weight to lose. You can still join if you are 20 with 5 lbs to lose, or 95 with 150 lbs to lose :)
Here is the link for the messageboard. I look forward to seeing you there :)
