It's been a long time since i posted here. I am coping and learning how to exist in this new reality of being a widow. It isn't easy but with faith and grit, my life goes on.
My grandson Wyatt was born in Sept. of 2012 and he is a wonderful, funny charming smart and beautiful little boy. I travel weekly to be his Nanny/Nonna and then come home for the weekend to take care of my home, yard, car, etc. It's a crazy life! I have a love/hate relationship with Amtrak and have logged many miles on the NE corridor.
I have adopted a plant-based organic diet with little to no added oils or sugars. Creating family meals in this way is always a challenge because it really depends on what organic choices are available in the market. I go with an open mind and create meals from the produce we buy. The baby is so amazingly strong and healthy and loves loves loves to eat!
Walking and playing in the park with him and doing yard work at home is really the only exercise i get because my knees are not able to handle much else. It's all good. My weight is under control,. I no longer spend precious time stressing over it and hating myself and my body. This is priceless!
I make my very healthy vegan protein(uni-key body protein) smoothies almost every day for breakfast and/or lunch. The most typical has blueberries, spinach, flax seed, cinnamon and freshly grated turmeric and ginger. It is delicious , satisfying and keeps me going.
Oh and that gorgeous pink dress? I did wear it to that wedding and can still wear it . All my clothes fit, some are even a little baggy! Uh oh! I don't mind a bit!
So, if what you are doing isn't working, why keep doing it? Try a new approach! The number one advice i'd give to anyone, Add more plant based meals to your life. Also, get the sugar OUT!!!
peace and love, Fran
