Day 544: The Photographs Have Arrived
Tuesday, May 27, 2014
Himself had fun photographing the small-town parade - while of course there are parades of one sort or another in Britain, this was his first up-close look at an American parade.
Sandy Creek is a very small town, with a correspondingly small high school, but they've got a good band with lots of enthusiastic, talented kids.
Local central school, pre-K through 12th - my mother graduated here in 1950.
Himself was quite taken with one of the patriotic firetrucks:
There's a flagpole in front of our house. He's been flying the Union Jack* most days since he got here. I told him he definitely had to fly the Stars'n'Stripes for Memorial Day weekend, especially on Monday.
*HRM Elizabeth II has a royal flag that's flown when she's in residence. I've been razzing Himself that I guess if the Brit is in residence, the Union Jack is the standard of the day, lol...
Hope you're having a good day-after - carpe diem!
