This beauty and a food processor got added to my family of appliances yesterday!!! I've been wanting a mixer for more than 6 years now, but have never had the money to get one till now! To celebrate, I made my first ever batch of homemade bagels! I cooked them for a little too long, but they bread itself was spot on! Going to try to make a loaf of bread and start a batch of bagels today.
I also made this beauty of a peach cobbler. I used as little sugar as possible to macerate the peaches, so it turned out nicely tart, just like a fresh peach should be. The worst thing calories-wise on it was the crust, which I'm sure I can find a more healthy version of.
I've stayed nicely busy for the most part, so no boredom eating. I felt awful yesterday, and I think it was like ya'll said, a hangover from not eating well. I didn't work out, which made me feel really bad since I'm doing 100 Days of Exercise, but I was just feeling that awful. I think it was a combination of food hangover and sleeping in. I forgot my alarm clock, and I'm just not the type of person that can sleep in any more, it gives me an awful sluggish feeling. I was baking and cleaning so much that by the end of the day my feet were sore! Today I'll remember to wear my shoes instead of my slippers!
We splurged and bought one more thing, a carpet cleaner. My poor old dog has chosen the stair landing as her place to pee when she has to go in the middle of the night. We've already replaced the carpet once, and we might have to again. We take her out late at night and then first thing in the morning, but she sometimes just can't hold it. I told my hubby we are going to have to get her some doggy diapers. So hopefully the carpet cleaner will work on getting the smell out (it's not too bad, but I don't want it to get worse!). We are supposed to start hosting a Bible study, and I don't want the stain there when that starts!
For food I did pretty good, other than having some of the cobbler, which actually was not too bad on the sugar for a cobbler. Going to do better today. Got my whole day planned. Oatmeal and a banana for breakfast. Cottage cheese for snack. Salad and a boiled egg for lunch. Stir fry and a salad for dinner, with a small serving of bread and honey (making bread today!). I figure with all the baking I'm going to be doing, I'm going to let myself have some, just small servings. So my bread will probably be half a small slice.
Since I missed my more intense work out yesterday, I'm going to add some elliptical to today's workout and spread it out over the morning. Do some when I finish this blog and then do some before lunch. Can't forget that today is a strength training day! Should help keep me busy for this morning. I'm going to watch some Biggest Loser before I workout to get me in the mood to exercise!
How true! It does not matter that I can't finish a whole workout DVD now, I'll get there. As long as I persevere and keep working out! I am not perfect and cannot be, so I need to stop getting onto myself when I'm not and realize as long as I do my best, that it's okay.
