Summer of Waistbands..........

Friday, August 22, 2014

When I think back over June and July, I tend to think of WAISTBANDS. Until June 2014 I was wearing elastic-waist jeans and slacks, but as I continued to lose weight, my jeans were too big, and when I looked into ordering the next size down, there were no elastic-waistband ones, just ones with regular waistbands.
Oh no, was my first thought since I'd not thought about wearing button/zip waistbands. Well, I had no choice, so I ordered a pair of jeans with THAT waistband. I was overjoyed that day in June when they arrived, I tried them on, and............they fit! I walked around with a pleased smile on my face the rest of the afternoon. I never thought about it but that was a natural progression. Since that order, I've added some other slacks and jeans and a couple of pairs have elastic inserts in the sides, but they still fasten with a button and zipper. Who knew I'd be here?
So, I've been inspired to continue my journey. And I've bought a pair of white capris (!!) I enjoy wearing.
My shirts now button, so I'm wearing them without a tank/tee under the open-front. And yes, they are also a smaller size.
I've ordered a down vest--didn't feel fat trying it on--in a smaller size and it fit when I zipped it up (a tad snug around my hips but I'm confident my journey will see that change). I've also ordered some other winter wear in my new, smaller size, and am not afraid to try them on now even though they are for future use.
I've been immediately donating my big clothes so I don't have them around to tempt me to be lazy on my journey. I HAVE to continue to fit in my clothes.
So, I'm continuing on. In my waistband/button/zipper pants.

Congratulations on all your hard work! It is paying off!

I remember trying a skirt on one time in the size I thought I needed and it was too big so I got the next smaller size and it was too big! The next size was a perfect fit and I couldn't believe it and I said "Oh my!" rather loud (then hoped no one heard me). I'm sorry to say that skirt is too little for me now but I'd like to fit back into it!

Enjoy your new clothes and keep up the good work!
