3rd Week

Wednesday, August 27, 2014

Alrighty, this week was better. I had a loss this week emoticon Not big, but I feel better about heading in the right direction. This past weekend I went to a Women of Faith conference with my mom. It was a good weekend, learned a whole heap of knowledge and now I feel refreshed afterwards. Matthew West & Natalie Grant performed, so that was pretty awesome.

I went off plan a little bit during my travels, but I also did a good deal of walking, so I think it all balanced out ok. emoticon

Last night was my first "official" training run for the half marathon. Right before I left there was a weather warning, but I didn't think much of it, because, well... I never do. haha Anyways, I saw lighting on my way to the run and a little rain. When I got the the park, it was still lighting and heard a little bit of thunder. The coaches were considering calling off the run. You can run in the rain, but of course not with lighting! And we were running along the river. haha We decided to run and luckily the lighting moved on. It was still raining pretty good the whole run. It felt REALLY good, esp compared to the hot, humid weather I've been running in. I was worried about being the last person to finish, but there was another lady there that was pacing with me. We ended up running together, so that was really nice.

I'm still contemplating doing the Whine Run on Monday. It's 5 miles and very hilly... and i have to get up early to drive somewhere...haha

This will be your 2nd Half right?

Man ... I so want to be able to do one someday. You are freakin AWESOME!

And the training in the rain ... that's when you look at no one in particular and smile that wry smile ... knowing you totally rock.
