So sorry you are in such pain :-(( Knees are very painful and very long to recover from. It took me three months before the intense pain of trying to bend the knee subsided. But you have to keep working at it to get the mobility back. In the end it will be worth it. It never bothered me to walk on it though. In fact when I first stood up on it, I couldn't believe it didn't hurt so bad. The grinding was gone.
All the best with rehab. Always make sure to take your painkillers before physiotherapy and do your exercises as directed.

emoticon The process stinks, but the final results will be heavenly. After you recover, you will be able to do things you haven't done for years, with no pain. Don't rush things. Just keep your eyes on the prize and your spirits high. Many prayers coming your way.

hi steph love glad you are home now and all went relative well for you.wow only 11/2 hours recovery room i was two days in recovery room and over two weeks in hospital then had to go to rehab for three weeks.also had to have a small second op 5 days after the big ltkr.the pain is extreme hope they have given you some strong painkillers to help.it does get better though as your knee gets more mobile.i just think it is strange that my knee hurts more now than before the op but they assure me it will eventually go away.i had my three month check up the other day at the hospital and the dr´s are pleased i still have to use the crutches another month(occassionally my knee gives way for no reason as the nerve apparently doesn´t pick up or forgtts to send the signal to the brain)i also have lymph drainage 3 times a week(left knee leg still 15cm more swollen than right not operated leg)and physio theraphy 2 times a week along with hot /cold(ice)theraphy two times a week.i also have physio theraphy exercises that i have to do on a daily basis at home.i am now allowed to turn my knee and leg abit and have been given exercises to strengthen the inner side muscles now i can turn the knee.all in all it will be a long strong process but we are both strong and we can do this.know i am here for you love.take care and keep smiling. emoticon
