Revisit September goals
Tuesday, September 30, 2014
Looking back on the past month's goals I had set for myself:
1--no soda. I did great with this. I had one serving of soda all month and that was during my son's birthday party. This really isn't an issue for me, so I don't think I need to continue it as a goal going forward. I know to avoid it and just drink water.
2--Track and stay in calorie range--well.......I mostly tracked, but went over range several days again. I know this is a huge hindrance to my losing weight. I know I cannot out-work a bad diet. Good thing is my diet IS getting more and more healthy, I just have too much of it. This goal will be my #1 HUGE one for October.
3--Five fruits/veggies per day--I made HUGE progress in this. I didn't get them in EVERY day, but probably 5 out of every 7 days in a week. Just by focusing on it, I realize when I need to increase. This will remain on my goal list for October, but I am well on my way to making it a habit.
4--No night eating---still struggling with this. I get hungry, I look for junk, I go over range. We often eat dinner late anyway due to kids' activities, but the snacking has got to go. I'm going to set up 8 pm as my absolute time to stop eating. I don't believe that calories at night are any worse than daytime calories, but my problem is just snacking and going over after putting in a great day of fitness and nutrition. Stupid to ruin it at night.
5--Eat breakfast--mission accomplished! I had breakfast probably every day except maybe 2 or 3. Been making smoothies most of the time, I will start to swap out with oatmeal now and then. I don't need this goal to carry over because I am doing it regularly now.
All in all, I feel good about September. Now sure my weigh ins have shown that, but I do know I was pretty active, and definitely ate a lot healthier. There is always work to do to get better, and I will post my October goals next.
