PVR Shows Deleted - ARGH

Wednesday, October 15, 2014

All last week my fiancé and I have been watching Game of Thrones...we had not seen any of it so basically watched season 1 through 4 one episode after another. All the regular shows that we watch are set on the PVR to tape so we skipped all of those to watch Game of Thrones.

Once done with Game of Thrones we started watching the shows that PVR'd last week...Chicago PD, Chicago Fire, Dominion, Scorpion and anything else may fiancé wanted to watch. My shows, Suits, Saving Hope and Reign - shows that my fiancé decides are not worth his time even thought I watch all of what he wants to watch - were all deleted.

I found that out yesterday when I finally had a chance to sit down at the TV without my fiancé that he had deleted all the shows I wanted to watch- that I had not seen yet- and left every episode of the Walking Dead that he knows I have seen because we have watched them all together.

My heart sank...he came upstairs and I said ' You deleted all my shows' expecting that he would say something like ' I'm sorry, I thought you watched them already' but he said:

'What do you want me to do about it?' angrily

I was shocked - WTF??? How do you react to that? I said nothing and did not speak to him the rest of the night. I am more pissed off at his reaction to my statement than the fact that he actually deleted my shows.

I was expecting an automatic apology but got an argumentative question from him.

When did he think I watched to shows? Every time I sat down to watch TV he was with me and we watched what he wanted to watch- which is what we do all the time- since I pvr stuff I don't usually worry about it and just watch what he wants to watch and watch my stuff when he is not there...but he was always there and I never had a chance.

So now I am mad at him for his reaction and he is mad at me because I am mad at him.

Am I wrong to be mad at his reaction? Shouldn't you apologize when you are in the wrong?

Yes. An apology is needed. You were hurt on so many levels. His thoughtlessness, his selfishness and his gruffness.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I get it. I hate watching sports, so we ended up buying another t.v. so when DH wants to watch, he can go and watch that while I can watch something else he's not into. We don't PVR. I don't have a PVR.

Hopefully you can watch what you want on the computer. I know the stations sometimes have them posted after they have been aired, but it doesn't fix the problem of what was done.

Time for a talk with your betrothed?

    Take care.
