I've not worked out all week. I know I said this before. But it irks me. So starting back with working out tomorrow and will work out Sun-Thurs and try to work out on Sat., but I usually let DH sleep in that day. I notice that I don't get up and do as much stuff on the days that I don't work out. I'm trying to get my kids more active too, so Monday's we will start going to the park and walking 1 mile. Hopefully we can go twice a week, but we'll start with once. Then they can go play and get wore out, lol. I also started setting a timer for 60 minutes and when it goes off we get up and stretch, do a few simple exercises and walk around the house 5 times
The girls love it and remind me to set the timer. I love that I'm teaching them that exercise is important.
I've not lost any weight, but this first week on my 6 meal a day plan has been hard. We slip every now and then and go out to eat too often, like we used to. That was this last week. It's hard on the calories, body and wallet. I'm learning what I'll eat and what I won't, what I need to prep before hand and to put dates on what day so I know how old it is. I'm very suspicious of old food and won't eat it if it looks/smells even a bit funny. I'm going to learn how to make my own bars to eat, starting with a quinoa one! I love things I can make myself, and I love making them with my girls.
So today I'll eat:
0730 Yogurt and granola (about 1/3 of a cup)
0930 Apple w/2 tbsp peanut butter
1330 Bar (I'll be out)
1530 Fruit salad w/honey and lime
1730 1/2 sandwich and small salad
Planning meals like this can be hard. How do I know I'll want something sweet like a fruit salad at 1530 when I may want something salty like nuts? I think instead of putting time stamps on everything from now on I'll list my options for the day and I'll eat them when I feel like it. I can be a very picky eater.
One thing I'm trying my best to do is to eat and drink water with my morning meds. They say to take a whole glass or two with Juice Plus supplements, and I have not. I'm supposed to eat with my meds, and I usually don't. I did this morning. And I drink my usual glass it takes to get my meds down and then an additional glass to make sure I have enough in me.
Did you know that the human stomach can hold up to 2 quarts of food and drink? I didn't until we learned about the stomach this week. That is a lot of food if you think about it.
I love this time of year. A time for hats and scarves and sweaters and stews and chili with bread bowls (homemade of course!) and playing in leaf piles and hot chocolate when you come inside. I love Fall. I dislike Winter, when you have to worry about roads icing over. And this year is supposed to be a doozy. Did I mention that in order to get anywhere I have to go over at least two bridges? But back to Fall, this is my favorite time of year. Cuddling up in warm blankets and robes during morning and night but in the middle of the day it is warm enough to go out and play
