So about 8 months ago I joined a Sverapa Yoga class. Not sure that is how to spell it but it is an unusual name. There are many types of Yoga and I've tried them. But this class is amazing. I have had back problems with a sore right hip for years. Sometimes just could not get comfortable when lying down. So I'm been to a chiropractor for about a year and then started this Yoga class.

Sverapa involves lying on a blanket on the floor for at least half the class. I go on Thursdays at 6:30 and last night I debated about skipping the class and watching reruns and Project Runway instead. But I decided to go and meet my commitment. The minute I laid down on the floor with my knees over 3 rolled blankets and my head on another blanket, my spine pressed into the floor, I was in heaven. THis type of Yoga is sooo relaxing! And it has helped my back!. I've been going to the chiropractor every other week and I realized about 6 weeks ago that my back and hip have not been hurting. And when I went to the Chiro on Tuesday, she did very minimal moving around of the spine. Is that all I got? Needed? It has taken a year of commitment, 3 times a week to start for 3 months and then every other week for the chiro. Nearing the end but it has worked. Couldn't be happier.

    I am so glad you are finding such good results with yoga. I have found the same thing myself. You might want to check out grokker.com if you haven't already. There are a wealth of all different kind of yoga classes there including restorative yoga that sounds much like what you are doing.

    Whatever works. I am all for it. I love my chiropractor. No shots/meds--just adjustments and they work.
