12 miles

Sunday, November 16, 2014

I tell ya what.. 12 miles puts the hurt on people. oof! I think 10 miles is my limit for a "feel good" run.

I've been having some hip pain, nothing serious, but just a dull pain. So I decided to give that fancy "KT" tape a try. Slapped it on my hip Saturday morning and went on my run. I think it actually did work! I've watched the video on it, and honestly I still don't completely get how it works, I just know it really did seem to help. I felt pretty good, and was going at a good consistent pace... that is, until I hit 10 miles. I did a 9/1 split, which is 9 miles jogging, 1 min walking for the entire run. After 10 miles, walking wasn't even easier. Just different muscles hurting. But.. I finished. We're supposed to do 14 miles next weekend, but that's not happening. I think I'll do 9 or 10. Only 3 weeks till the Half Marathon! I'm pretty excited to do it and pretty excited to be done... but.. of course... of course.. I'm already looking at other HM's. LOL I know, I know. I'll go read that blog, I'll laugh and sign up for another one.
I think I have decided to not do another one this time of year though. I've already got enough going on between October - December to be doing these dang long runs every Saturday. I found a list of "great" HM's to do, so I'm going to look at those. Might be fun to travel and run!

12 MILES!!!! Dang girl!! I miss that feeling of accomplishment that a run gives you, granted I had only just done my first mile and a half when the weight started coming back on and I gave up on everything. Hahahaha waaaaaaa lol. Ok, thanks for the motivation, I gotta get my butt moving again!! Keep it up girl, but do please listen to what your body tells you, Hugs and loves.

Hahahaha, I sooooo knew this was going to happen! And you called me a run addict hahahaha.

Way to go one the 12 miles ... you will totally wham on the half.

As for the KT tape, I tried it too...wifey has as well. It is an interesting concept. I got the one that sticks for longer periods and can even be in the water. And man there are a bunch of colors too! And you look badass for using it!

I'm glad you found something that helps you on the run! I totally understand not wanting to sign up for stuff in Oct-Dec just that time of the year is so stressful!

I still really want to do that cocoa women's half that takes place in January. I had to skip it this year even though I paid and registered, due to injury and then surgery.

Then again, I'm really not sure I can do those longer runs. I haven't run longer than 6.4 miles, and I don't know exactly how that affected me because it was during the Sparkathon so I walked the rest of the way to a half-marathon. I know if I walk more than about 7 miles my hips and ankles start to bother me and complain. I may just be a 5K kind of girl!
