My 2011 blog on this topic, very much like today's reaction: I was UP A HALF POUND this morning, gaaaaaaah.

After immaculate self-control. After complete compliance with the program.

Waaaaah, not fair, I'm entitled to maintain weight. Precisely. I should NEVER blip upwards, not for one nano-second. Poor me, might as well stuff my face, might as well forget this whole thing. Beck's a fraud. It's too difficult. And so forth?????

No.

Went to the gym on a cold and snowy morning. Did 30 minutes on the elliptical at level 8, followed by upper body strength training on the machines. Came home to my egg white/feta/spinach omelette.

A half pound is nothing. Nada. Not even going to acknowledge its existence. Within the normal range of "biological" fluctuation. And I'm doing just fine.

Yes, you are! If I am with a multi-pound gain "just fine", you surely are with that silly half pound fluctuation that you and I both know is exactly as you described... a normal range of biological fluctuation. You've got this!

You sound like me yesterday! Up a pound after a week of hard workouts and scrupulous nutrition tracking. I got on the scale today and it was gone and then some. That scale has some awesome power. I wish I could have that kind of influence with my employees! Ha!

emoticon They need to get rid of those fractional scales for people who weigh in daily!! You are fine! You are well familiar with those daily fluctuations we all have for what ever reason. I can't even imagine staying at the exact same number, day in and day out..
    Keep up the great work!

Wow, you've inspired a ton of people with your Beck blogs - pretty awesome. It continues to be a great experience for me..I was more than ready but needed the Spark!

I am with you on the half pound...within the normal range of fluctuation. And I read your blog from your first round of Beck too...ballet-pink suit, oh my! I love clothes and shopping too, one of my biggest motivators! Lovely.

    Cheers,
    Kristin

Just doing fine, you are. Half pound is nothing, as you know and say. You are a successful long-term maintainer. And I suspect you always will be. Admire your dedication to exercise and fitness even when you have to deal with cold and snow.

Love your "Within the normal range"
Laser like precision on a scale, with a biological being whose weight fluctuates with intake and output, is impossible. Your line of thinking is outstanding.

I think you're doing awesome! Congratulations I'm being on day 35! That is fantastic you went to the gym and worked out this morning! I'm so proud of you! Women range 2-4 pounds depending on what time of the month! Don't worry about the scale today! Keep on keeping on! I hope you have a fabulous day and a wonderful week!
    Hugs and love,

Trying to maintain a precise weight is like trying to count precisely the number of calories you are eating -- just not possible. Too many variables inside and outside to be counted on to be reliable.

What is reliable is your health care routine -- that you can (and have) depend(ed) on.

For you to say you're "doing just fine" seems like a huge understatement! Way to go! Way tot think! Way to act!

emoticon That's a success! Level 8 on the elliptical? That's something--I'm working my way to level 2, lol. Keep up the great work and brush off those half pounds!

P.S. I did get the Beck book, after reading your blogs. I hope it'll give me some insight as to why I yo-yo so badly (I mean, I joined SP and I've *re-gained* weight: nope, nope, nope.)
