It's Midnight Here...

Wednesday, November 26, 2014

So it's 0123 right now and I'm up drinking a coffee. No, I should not be drinking coffee, but I didn't feel like hot tea. I've been getting up in the middle of the night to get something hot to drink to sooth my throat. My sinus infection has my throat raw. I'm not going to be able to do this at Grandma's and I'm not looking forward to it.

At Grandma's we end up packing the house full, someone sleeping in every room, including the living room and den. So we get stuck in our room in the mornings because me and our girls are morning birds and no one else in the house is emoticon . So I am bringing books and granola bars and those apple sauce pouches... because we get hungry sitting there till everyone wakes up. We don't leave the room till we hear other people stirring. I'm going to ask them to come get us this year and we won't leave the room till someone does. But that does give us plenty of time to get dressed and put on makeup and take vitamins and meds, so by the time we leave the room we are truly up and at 'em! emoticon

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone and I'm not. We just found out that Grandma had a tooth pulled so she is in a fine mood. Aunt D is hovering and being an overbearing mess which is making everyone cranky. Yes, it should be fun this year. emoticon

I'm going to get grilled on homeschooling, but I'm prepared for that due to Classical Conversations emoticon I have the book, the cards, the timeline cards, the science cards and of course the kids can answer almost any of the questions plus sing many educational songs. Pick out all the states and capitols on the map... Oh yes, homeschooling is one of my passions, so if they want to try to grill be about it, I'm going to overload them with information and show them how much the girls have learned! I know this is going to happen because it is what happened last year. Aunt D and Grandma usually are the one who do it. I think Aunt L and Aunt C are fine with it because they have never questioned our choice. I know my in-laws are on the fence about it, but I'm hoping they will be there when this happens so that they can see what a transformation Lily has made going from PS to HS.

I'm taking the rest of my diet pills while I'm there. All they do is make me feel full so I don't eat as much, and I'm all for that. I may not take one on Thanksgiving day, but every other day I will. Because that is what we DO at Grandma's snack and eat and eat some more. I don't want to do that this year. I'm going to go walking at least once every day, I've got to get more into walking and this is a perfect place to start.

Well, that is it for me, I'm off to bed and then in the morning (late morning) I'll be on my way! It's an 8 hour trip, so please pray for us!

Sounds like you have a plan to handle situations so you stay on target. Being active is good for everyone and a great model for your daughters. You can do this. Prayers for traveling mercies. emoticon
