Poem i wrote about mother

Wednesday, November 26, 2014

Shattered

Like glass falling on the floor
Scattering everywhere
A thousand little fragments
Tiny shards of memory

Moments etched in time
Forever in my mind
Her laugh and her smile
Imbedded in my heart

The way she held my hand
Playing cards with her
Eating meals together
Her simple words of thanks

The funny things she said
How she made me laugh
Kissing me on the cheek
When it was time to leave

Asking me about work
Supporting me through loss
There was love there
I thank God for mom

For all the years we had
The sweet Christian fellowship
I will miss her dearly
But one day up there

Once again we will meet
We will worship together
I can hardly wait
Till that blessed day comes

My heart may be shattered
I may be heartbroken
But I am really glad
That you are home at last.
