Slowly but surely ...

Slowly but surely the pounds are melting. I am down 24 lbs. ... almost a quarter of the way there.

Monday will be 7 weeks since I've started eating less, about 5 weeks since I got my fitbit, and about 4 weeks since I got a treadmill & started walking on it daily. I started out walking about 10 minutes a day, increased to 15, 20, 25, 30. I was proud when I did a mile in 30 minutes, at this point I am doing 1.30 mile in 30 minutes. My clothes are growing. I actually see a bigger difference in the way they fit than I see on a scale or in the mirror.

I have not been treating this as a diet. I've been going at it like a project to get healthy. Less than a year ago I had a helluva time walking on a treadmill for a stress test. Hopefully I won't need to take another one anytime soon, but when I do, I plan to be in much better shape. This summer at the ocean, I had a hard time walking on the boardwalk. Mainly because my hip hurt, but we can't rule out some huffing & puffing. I'm not spring chicken, but I am too young to be limited.

I want to feel good. I have a bad hip from a car accident. I have chronic asthmatic bronchitis. I may never be pain free. I may always get winded. But certainly 100 extra pounds wasn't/isn't helping. I'm on the right track now and I don't feel as though I will veer off anytime soon. Thank goodness lol
