Rest of 2014--so far

Monday, December 29, 2014

So, in August, I was wearing pants with waistbands for the first time in.......I don't remember.

Since then I've bought a belt. Haven't worn one of those in about 25 years. Used it to hold up my pants. In my belt loops on the waistband. Wow.

Today I bought a pair of jeans. And....needed a smaller size. I've not felt like I'm losing weight nor is the scale moving downwards rapidly, but maybe the exercise is toning me. Anyway, I came out of the dressing room in the usual size and told the clerks I like my clothes to be loose, not baggy, and did they think I needed a smaller size. Without hesitation they said "yes" in unison. Here I was questioning and they didn't.

I guess once in awhile we need an objective evaluation to see/find where we really are. I was going to buy jeans regardless so they weren't selling me any, but they could tell I was ready to move to a smaller size.

I do wear my clothes loose. I like to be able to move freely, layer tops or shirts under jackets or sweaters--or wear a tank/camisole, a shirt AND a sweater or jacket. A while back I realized I was buying clothes by fit, not size, so numbers are all over on labels in my clothes. I realized I was no longer hung up on numbers, I was interested in fit. I think all that means I'm continuing on my journey to a healthier life, a better life.

I feel I'm doing o.k. I'm ready to face January with some specific goals. I don't want to go back. I'm ready to continue this journey and change my life.
