I neglected to check my calendar when I scheduled my water aerobics classes and I'm booked this week on Monday (when I was supposed to have gone to my first class) and today (should have been my second class). Fortunately, it's only this week. Next week I've cleared it up so I can actually go to my first Aqua Fitness class Saturday morning. I'm really looking forward to it.
In the meantime, I did attend my first Yoga (I could do about the first 10 minutes and then I was ready to fall over, lol) and my first Zumba! I was surprised that I was able to keep up with Zumba for about the first 15-20 minutes but then they changed up the movements and weren't repeating steps enough times for me to get them before they moved on to new ones. I got frustrated and went to get on a bike for another 15 minutes then some stretching and I was done. Not bad for my first week back.
Tonight, since I'll miss water aerobics, I'll do 20 minutes on a bike or treadmill and then I have a half hour with a personal trainer. Because of the sleeve gastrectomy (I'm only 8 weeks post op) I can only eat about 500 - 600 calories a day and he's said he doesn't want to push me like he would if I was eating normally.
I've also incorporated a small bit of stretching during the day (I'm a Database Administrator, which means 8 - 10 hours in a chair in front of a computer) to help my hip flexors, glutes and hams. Temporarily, I feel like I've been beaten from my knees to my lower back but I have confidence that the stiffness and soreness that I've been experiencing for some time will ease up if I stick with it.
