Last week was my first week back in a training program for running. The training program I'm doing is specifically to increase my speed. I am training for a 10K at the end of Feb. However... last week, I was only able to do the 5K training workout. My allergies are really affecting my lung capacity. Last night I went to the gym and ran on the treadmill. I think, for now, I'll be training more on the treadmill. It will help me keep a consistent pace as well as being inside away from the elements. I have also decided that I'm going to scale back on my running. I'm going to concentrate on my short distance for now. This will help me to reach my speed goal, do more HIIT training with running and also, it will give me more time to crosstrain. All I did was run last fall, I need to add some variety and keeping my distances shorter will help me.
Last night I took a picture of the treadmill after I was done. Not my best time, but it's a good starting point.
