Weather's better but still a challenge getting to the gym

Thursday, January 15, 2015

So FINALLY the bad weather broke. We're supposed to get into the high 40's and low 50's for the next several days. Yaaaaaaayyyyyyyy!!! The only problem is that I took a couple of falls during the bad weather and wrenched my left knee so getting a good workout in is still going to be a challenge for the next several weeks. BUT . . .

I finally made it to my first EVER aqua fitness (more than just aerobics - got some strength training in, too) class. I LOVED it AND I managed to last for the entire hour!!!! Even with a sore knee (which did complain a couple of times, even in the water), even with being so completely out of shape, I STILL lasted the whole hour and really enjoyed it too. I think that's gonna be my 'go to' class for awhile. I still like Zumba but I can only last about 20 minutes there.

The weird thing about the aqua fitness (AF) was the way my body felt doing the pop ups. I'm use to being very . . . solid, I guess you'd call it. I was heavy enough that there wasn't a lot of flopping when I moved (except my bosom). Last night I could DEFINITELY feel my belly bouncing up and down - it was odd to say the least. And, as weird as it may sound, I kind of welcomed it. I think it's moving like that because I've lost so much weight so quickly. So, in a way, it was a reinforcement of what I'm doing. I am going to have to buy a new bathing suit, though, lol.
