2015 miles in 2015--Am I Crazy or Brilliant?

For some bizarre reason (or perhaps an actual moment of insanity), I decided today, January 23rd, to commit to completing 2015 miles in 2015. This, for me, includes walking, running, biking, and hiking. It averages to about 5.5 miles per day, which is a LOT, considering my normal runs are 3-4 miles, 3-4 times per week, and some of that is always walking. I could rack up miles quickly biking, IF I weren't terrified of my bike and wiping out. That is something I plan to overcome this spring! In any case, I'm already so behind I have to average 5.8 miles per day to make it now! But I think this will be a HUGE motivation for me! I did 4.26 miles on the treadmill today (which put me even more behind!) but I do need to build up mileage slowly.

I can probably do double miles on weekends by either running twice or walking a bunch of it. We hike fairly regularly and often do 5-10 mile hikes, so that will help. But overall, this is just a personal goal that I feel is difficult but attainable.

I looked for a Spark group for this and didn't find one. I did find one on facebook. They may be more hardcore than I am though, but that's kind of the point, I guess, to be motivated by those ahead of you in their journey and to help encourage those behind you.

If anyone actually reads this and wants to join me, I'd love to have someone to help hold me accountable!

Weekend is looking to be snowy, I am going to have my husband get my old dusty treadmill set up so I can get some miles in at home as well as at the gym and outside. Go Me!
