Snowed In!

Monday, February 02, 2015

Judith had a an appointment with the surgeon who fused her toe scheduled for 11:00 this morning. We woke up to howling winds and driving snow. At 8:00 A.M. I put a shovel in the car and so I could get rid of any snow drifts that might block us from getting to the road. I backed out of the garage and couldn't even turn the car around. There was more than a foot of heavy wet snow. It took me ten minutes just to get back into the garage and I have a four wheel drive RAV4. The driveway is a quarter mile long and I know from experience that it will have to be cleared with a bulldozer. A pickup truck with a plow won't be able to handle it. Normally we would just take a few days and shovel our way out, but Judith is in a cast, and my leg is still badly swollen. Judith is waiting for a call back so she can cancel her appointment.
...and now for some coffee.

Wow! So sorry you got snowed in and Judith had to miss her appointment :-(( This seems to be one massive system spread from Canada to the US, because lots of people on both sides of the border are talking about it!
Monday was some kind of holiday here, but not for the bridge club, business as usual. There isn't much in the way of weather that will keep them away either lol.
Hope the storm passes quickly, but sounds like you could use a rest day anyway!

Took a couple hours for me to dig ourselves out. Nice workout! Especially that hard-packed stuff the plows toss to the shoulder of the road. :-)

If the doctor is smart, his office will be CLOSED today as well most businesses.
