One Step Back; Two Steps Forward

Today's SparkCoach video was Coach Nicole giving encouragement for those times when you "slip up"! That could so easily be me. I have used diet/nutrition websites before but this is the first time I have stayed with it for so many days - 23 so far! I haven't really lost any weight but I can feel the difference in my clothes and doing the exercises has helped my knees so much.

So - what are my action steps when I feel like I've gone wrong? First - don't feel guilty, it won't help. Second - start again wherever you left off. Yesterday I could only make myself do 10 minutes on the treadmill - legs hurt too much; but I left it on and in the evening I got back on to walk a bit more. The treadmill picked up where I had left off and I made it to 18 minutes! Third - remember how certain foods make me feel after I've eaten them.

I have spent the last 6 years mourning a job I loved, but a job that was constantly draining all my energy and, quite frankly, killing me slowly. I knew that but the hype of the job, the constant push from outside, kept me feeling necessary. It's time for me to find myself and my place in this new life!

Today is going to be a good day!
