What a week plus. Sick kid, sick dog, relatives in and out of hospitals, daughter's birthday scramble, strange work patterns.

My focus wobbled but I didn't fall completely off track. My exercise slacked off some, but not completely. I didn't stay great on low carb, but sweet foods didn't hold near their appeal as they used to. My food tracking fell off, but my portions stayed reasonable.

That said, I miss the discipline I was starting to build. Also, the hunt for a single photo evolved into to organizing all of old digital photos. What motivation. I've been bouncing around the same 30 pounds of way too overweight for way too long.

You are doing so well my friend! Next week will be better - just wait and see.

I´m exhausted from too much to do at work, but still - just as you, I keep my portion size under control. Track food and fitness on and off this last week. I have not given up. Gone to the gym 3 times - just as planned.

We must hang in there!! This is the year the weight will come off. emoticon emoticon

the other posters nailed it..... life happens & the journey is only *partly* about tracking fitness & nutrition. it's also about living in the real world and making the best choices you can, given the circumstances.

you're blogging honestly & when you can look things square in the face, noticing those things that didn't go so well and other things that you were able to accomplish, that helps lead to success!

Life is what happens around dieting. You did what you could. You didn't allow it to derail you, you kept making better choices. I'd call that a successful week. Perfect, no, but how often do any of us have perfect diet weeks? Seriously.

Focus on the priorities. Sick kid, relatives and dog needed you more than you needed to lose weight.

You done good, girl! (imagine a Brit saying that with a pseudo Texan accent and try not to laugh out loud - dare ya). emoticon

Not all days or weeks are going to be good ones. The most important thing is even with everything going crazy around you that you are able to maintain some control and know you have to find the exit to this roller-coaster.

Hope things smooth out quickly for you and everyone feeling better! Just don't forget to breathe and keep taking it one step at a time. emoticon

Happy Birthday to your daughter! emoticon

So sorry about the situation. When it rains, it never drizzles, it pours! I'm hoping life evens out soon. We cannot always follow the plan as we intend - but you have a good perspective and you'll get back to it soon. Look at the progress- sweets not so tasty, not tracking but reasonable portions, AND exercise is still happening! Breathe and do what you can - you'll be back on the motivation wagon soon!
