Weight Loss Sabatoge

Yesterday, Ash Wednesday, Tom called McDonald's to see if their Filet O-Fish Sandwiches were on sale - yes, $2/sandwich (which actually isn't that great of a sale). Then, after we had eggs, sausages, toast and bananas for breakfast only 2 hours earlier, he said "Let's have them for lunch". I must have looked at him like he was crazy because he then said, "I'm doing this for you - don't you want Filet O-Fish?"

I answered honestly, but felt horribly guilty. Then I start thinking really, you know how hard I am working to loose weight. You can see how many times I'm on the Treadmill and the Stationary Bike; you know I've been on SparkPeople EVERY DAY for the last month AND you know that I've been actually cooking - something I really hate to do! How can you tempt me like this? And especially after we've had a huge breakfast and you know I've got Salmon out for dinner?

And then I start to second guess myself; oh, maybe we should have them for lunch on Thursday because we won't be having a regular dinner; maybe I'm being unfair to Tom for rejecting his idea; maybe he'll feel rejected and won't ever offer me anything again.

I'm happy to say that none of those things have happened - I am certainly going to have a Filet O-Fish at least once during the lent season but not until I can prepare for it by eating less and exercising more. I need to learn to be honest with my husband and hope that he will understand it in the spirit it is being offered!
