Day 14 of Small Changes: Eat more fruits and vegetables.

Many suggestions were given to fit more fruit and vegetables in your food intake: plan to have a fruit or veggie with every meal and use for snacks; make smoothies for breakfast or snacks; make soups; keep some veggies prepared in the fridge at all times for quick snacks; take some veggies or dried fruits with you when you have to be away from home; eat soup or salad before eating a meal at restaurants; load up on salad at the salad bar at the store (just watch the dressing); finely chop or grate veggies to add to spaghetti, pasta, etc.; stock up with canned and frozen fruits and veggies; and try new fruits and veggies.
Some of these things I do. Things I plan to start doing regularly are:
1. On Saturday or Sunday prepare fresh veggies and place in bags in the fridge for easy snacks or to use in recipes.
2. Start having smoothies once or twice a week for breakfast. I need to plan ahead to be sure to have what I need on hand.
3. Have salad once or twice a week.
