Starting again with working out on Monday. I still just can't seem to get out of bed on time! I tried yesterday morning (today is Saturday so I let myself sleep in this one day) and I slept till DH's alarm went off at 6:30 AM. My alarm went off at 5:40 am. I just can't seem to wake up enough to remember I need to get out of bed, not lay back down and fall asleep!
I think that is an emoticon of bread... not real sure! Close enough! I got two new baking books last Saturday, and I tried making a French bread and an Italian bread. They were WAY low on salt and so they didn't have much flavor. I doubled the salt and tried again yesterday on the Italian loaf and yum! I got it right! I made Italian baguettes and boy are they good! I love using it as a sandwich bread and with just butter and honey. Can't eat much of it, but boy is it good! Fluffy inside... I think I could have let it rise more, but last night I ended up staying up late because of the bread and I got really tired around 1000 and ended up throwing it in the oven then. But I'm so excited! Yay bread! I've been trying so hard to make good bread and it is finally paying off!
Aunt G is recoving well from her open heart surgery, her cough is almost gone and she's anxious for visitors (she's a very social, talkative person!). So we are going to see her today since I have to go into town to go to the phamacy any way. I finally got the doctor to give me my huge horse pill medicine in smaller doses to that I won't choke on the pill. So I take four smaller pills instead of one big horse pill. The brand the pharmacy started using was like sandpaper on the outside, so it really didn't go down well. I'm much happier to take the several small pills instead! Speaking of pills, when Aunt G got out of the hospital and then out of the rehab center, they had her taking 22 medications! talk about overload! She finally got in to see my doctor and they got it worked out. Took them hours to do it, but she got taken care of well. She always says if there is a crack she will fall through it, and boy did the hospital do that! But my doc and her nurse are great, so I knew they would take good care of her
Last day of Classical Conversations was yesterday
My girls are going to miss it till it starts next September, but we promised to make play dates with several people. Our school year has not ended though, we are going to go year-round. My oldest took a standardized test this last week and I watched her take the math... man did she do abysmally! We knew she was behind, but not that behind! So we've ordered Life of Fred and I sent a help plea out to a homeschool Mom group I'm a part of for help catching her up in math. So far Life of Fred and CTC Math are the top picks so it looks like that is what we will be doing. I talked to her about it and she seems fine with doing more math, especially since it will be partially on the computer. When she was in school there was a girl during math that would tell her how stupid she was and that she was too stupid to do math. So she has a mental block when it comes to math. I thought we had overcome it, but the way she froze up at the math section of the test, I guess not. So we are going back to basics! We'll probably do the same curriculum for our other daughter, she is good at math, but a little extra help won't hurt!
So, I'm starting working out again on Monday! I've got to get out of this sleeping in thing and get back to working out! I've been grumpier and more tired since I quit working out. Odd how working out invigorates me. But when I was working out back when I was in shape, it always would do that. I get really tired at night when working out, but I have more energy in the morning.
So, off to go visit Aunt G!!
