How Can I Hold on to Spring Motivation?

Sunday, April 19, 2015

You can tell it is spring because I am living outside in the garden. Every spring I get this incredible burst of energy and accomplish so much (inside and out). Not just physical things, even though I did go on a hike this morning, but I also make more plans with family and friends. I even step up my involvement with the organizations I volunteer at, really!

However, usually this burst of spring induced motivation withers with the rising temperature and humidity. This year I want to try hold on to this feeling of "all is possible". I need a plan....some strategies for holding onto this.

Any ideas, suggestions, things that work for you? Am I the only one who has this problem every spring?

yeah summers here are hot its either stay indoor . From the air in the car to the house or building. Once temps rise above 80 it gets hard to be outside. Hubby likes the heat . ugg not me. If you have room maybe make you a place with flowers and plants with a sitting reading area for you or in an office if you have a computer there. someplace where you can open the drapes and see the light. The sun light is what gives us that free spirit without any depression. I know here you want to keep drapes closed so the heat wont get into the house . 1 window would be ok though. Just a thought.

Hopefully the garden can keep you motivated - early morning and late evening weed pulling seems to work for me...

I too am a lover of Spring and leap out of bed each morning. My answer for the rest of the seasons is a bucket list of things to do and see. Some times I start Christmas thing in summer with a count down to that if I get in a slump. emoticon

I live in constant Spring-like weather, so I really have no good advice on this.

All is possible! The motivation is inside you - what would it take for you to nurture it into flowering once summer arrives?

I change the time of day I am outdoors exercising to early morning because it's typically cooler and less humid. Also, I know I can be lazy and not want to do it after work or in the evening when I could be spending time with my husband and cat.
