My new four-legged motivator

Wednesday, May 13, 2015

It's been a busy couple of weeks. The beginning of this month, I flew to upstate New York to sort through our mother's belongings with my brother after her estate was finally settled. Allen joined me last Wednesday, and we loaded up a fifteen foot rental truck with furniture and memorabilia, and set out on the long drive home two days later. Mom's little cairn terrier Tito came with us.

I was too damned busy to track my intake or hit the local gym, but I continued avoiding sugar and wheat, and still managed to lose a pound, much to my relief when I got home and stepped on the scales. That's not what this post is about, though.

I've got to tell you, feisty little terriers and overweight old ladies create the perfect symbiosis. He loves his walks, and has now marked every mailbox, shrub, lamppost, and dandelion within a square mile radius as his own. Meanwhile, I'm no longer coming in a$$-last in the Fitbit challenges. Life is good!

I've heard that is the case, but I'll have to take your word for it. No way will I be finding out for myself. LOL. Lots of hard work and effort on your part to make these changes and progress! emoticon

Terriers are very hyper active dogs we just had to put our terrier down about 6 months ago after 16 yrs. But dog walking is one good way for us to get out and get our exercise and it is great for the dog as well.

I love my fitbit but it is awful on the days I don't have energy. Constant reminder of lack of effort. Enjoy your puppy!

Having to walk the dogs is a great way to be out and about on a daily basis. Hopefully the marking will settle down as he gets used to his new surroundings . . . but probably not. How they keep that little dribble going for an entire walk is beyond me.
