3 Day at home Retreat - Successful!
Thursday, May 21, 2015
My husband is an artist - or at least an artist in his heart. Unfortunately, he has a hard time staying focused and even though he has a fairly nice studio, it's a challenge for him to work without distraction. So this week we decided he would go up north on a mini artist-retreat and I would stay at home to find my own peace in this world. Today is my last day of aloneness and I'm happy to report that my 3 days have been quite successful.
First, I haven't left the house, other than walks with Daisy, for three days. That always makes me feel good. Second, I have cleaned my house and done some much needed organizing - the kind of things you don't want to start if you might be distracted before you're done. Third, I've been working in the yard and the garden for at least a couple of hours each day and I can clearly see the results. I have a really large back yard that I love, but I have neglected it so much over the past couple of years. And Fourth, I have been able to take walks and exercise every day - which I can really tell has made a difference because it is so much easier for me to work in the garden this year. And Fifth, I have made sure to take time to read, to work on some of my knitting projects and catch up with movies I've wanted to watch.
I miss my husband and am glad he will be coming home tomorrow but I have so enjoyed a few days of solitude - just me, Daisy and our kitty friend Sheba. The weather has been good and the three of us have enjoyed ourselves.
