Hot Yoga - Yes, it was hot!

Whewww... I did it! I survived my first hot yoga class. I love regular yoga, but was really nervous to try hot yoga. I was worried about sweating to much, getting to hot, passing out or not being able to do it. It was really, really warm, but felt so good once we were done. It was an awesome atmosphere, music, low lights, candles in corners of the room and it was a full, packed class.
Within the first few minutes I was already sweating, gradually through the hour long class they turn up the heat more. There were a couple of times, I had to stop and just wipe down but overall I really enjoyed it and plan on adding it as another exercise option. Also my two daughters did it with me so having mother-daughter time is a bonus too!
The other aspect that I liked was the meditative parts, where the instructor talks you through relaxing, breathing and "feeling the moment" and letting everything outside of the room go, for the hour....I have had a stressful and emotional couple of weeks so I think I may have needed that release. Since then, I have downloaded a new station on Pandora radio for meditative music and have been trying to lay down for 10-15 minutes in the floor and just listening to the music and releasing the stress of the day. When I get up off the floor I feel so much better and that 10 minutes calms me and resets my brain for the rest of the day. Thought I would give it a try!
