Today was a Good Day!

Friday, July 03, 2015

One week ago we were sitting in the dining room of our hostess, Beverly Wunder at the Wunder Ranch and Outlaw B&B in Lander, Wyoming. We had a wonderful week visiting Wyoming and made some forever friends in Beverly and her daughter Janice. Even our dog Daisy made a friend with CD (short for cattle dog). It was certainly the best vacation we've had - and a great way to celebrate 20 years of marriage.

But coming home has been challenging. It felt great to pull into the garage after 17 hours on the road. Even Daisy perked up when she realized she was in her regular house - and she started looking everywhere for her friend Sheba (the cat) who was hiding downstairs. But coming home also means that we no longer have that peaceful cottage in the valley looking up to see hills and mountains all around. It also means weeds in the garden (I've been weeding almost every day for the past 5 days and have only made a dent), family issues to deal with, and other day-to-day events. None of them bad really, just not the peaceful days of last week.

So my challenge to myself is to find a bit of Wyoming here in Minnesota - every day! I was so happy to have found this hideaway and will absolutely be going back someday soon!

It sounds like a great place to vacation at! I live in Florida and Wyoming is one place I'd just love to visit.

Back to the daily grind is something else! I ride and camp with my horse and it is a bit bitter sweet when we have to come home. I love being out in nature without the worries of "things" in the home-front.

Wishing you well in your adjustment to reality! :D
