Tried and Tested

Tuesday, July 14, 2015

So about two months ago I got a call from a friend of mine in Texas she asked me if I had heard of this product or shall I say company. I hadn't and didn't know anything about it and I am usually up on all the health stuff. She told me she was thinking about trying it and as friends we decided to give it a try together as we would learn more about it. I tried this for a month and thought well this is great but is it really the product or is it the great habits that I am doing? I don't need to be spending money when all it takes is effort on my part.

The products ran out so now I have gone a month without and forced just to stick with my effort. This was my test to see if the products work or not. I am now inclined to say they did because while on them I lost ten pounds. I was able to cut out sugar; drink the right amount of water and had enough energy to go out there and do my workout everyday. Without the products now for a month I have found myself slipping into somewhat of a depression; sugar has come back and it has been quite difficult getting my water in. I am so bloated this month I look like I swallowed a bag of marshmallows.

Maybe the product is just a crutch I realize I need to study this more but it was working for me so I am going to pick up more of this and just if its working go with it for now. I felt all in all it truly was helping me; and oy I need help right now.

You can make great healthy choices! For me it is 90% mental!! Read up on all the benefits of water. I recently read that when properly hydrated even the brain functions better!
    You can do this!!

I agree with the other comments. I believe taking pills to aid in the weight loss journey is not only more than what you should be paying for, but does not aid you in the correct way. This weight loss journey is how to teach yourself healthy eating habits, taking care of your mind and body through food and exercise, and then how to eat to maintain all that you have lost. Through all this you will find what works for you and doesn't work. For me in the beginning I would exercise like crazy only to find that I was not losing the pounds. And then when I found out overeating was my enemy it changed my life. We all want the weight off overnight, but in reality it doesn't work that way. We didn't put the weight on overnight, it will not come off overnight. The change needs to come from within, not a weight loss pill. It takes time and effort and A LOT of willpower but I did it (83 lbs gone) and I know you can do it too! Hang in there and always know that you have the support of Sparkpeople. We are all in this together!

I would have to agree with LEXJAMI79.
The thing that will work is the thing that you can do for the rest of your life. No diet, pill or product should you do for the rest of your life unless it is nothing more than eating right and exercise. You never need to spend money on losing weight if you have the right mind set, will power and patience. A LOT of patience lol. It takes a long time. You wont always lose 10lbs a month but you didnt always gain 10lbs a month either.

Your lacking energy is not because you arent taking the product anymore, it's because you arent drinking the water anymore and arent eating as healthy anymore. Increase those and you will see your energy come back.

I'm going to share my non medical opinion with you. Now I'm not a Doctor, nurse or any person affiliated with patient care. So what happened is that you stopped taking whatever it is you were taking. This happens with all weight loss pills. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. The minute you quit taking them, no matter how long you do them, you are going to have the effects you spoke of. The real problem with that, even if you establish healthy, sustainable changes is that the product is doing the work. Stuff like Hydroxycut and similar stuff can help you lose weight sure. The long term thing is, they aren't going to help you keep it off. Now there are actual weight loss pills approved by the FDA, but that junk in "vitamin" stores is not FDA approved. These things are quick fixes. They can't help sustain change and some can be downright harmful. Look how many people took ephedrine before we knew the side effects. I know folks want, fast quick change, but be cautious. Fast quick results come at a steep price sometimes. Just be VERY careful taking OTC weight loss supplements. I would hate for you to work hard and not see results after you quit the pills.
