My DH and I recently returned from our road trip to NY state; I usually fly and go alone, since he doesn't like to camp. But, this year, we borrowed his sister's RV and had our own campsite instead of me bunking with my sister, Grandma1951.
We saw lots of beautiful country....
rock formations at our 1st rest area in New Mexico
windmills in Oklahoma
the arch in St. Louis
We had a great week camping with my family (brothers/sister and their families as well as 2 of our daughters and their families). I couldn'r resist taking a photo of the stream near the campground as I took an early morning walk - it was so peaceful. I grew up at this State Park and it has so many fond memories for me.
Our grandson celebrated his 1st birthday at the end of the week.
We had our family reunion the last day before we left camp, which is the oldest running reunion in NYS. It was fun seeing all the children; we have several "twins" in our family - must be strong genes on my Mom's side of the family. Our middle daughter and my brother's middle daughter/our youngest granddaughter and my sister's granddaughter/our grandson and one of my sister's grandsons!
Several years ago, our cousin had a "family tree" painted; each year, those at the reunion put their thumbprint on it as a leaf. It is becoming quite full and beautiful.
I am glad to be home and running/biking/swimming again. And, my dog is glad we are home. She hasn't left my side; if I go into another room, she follows me and lies at my feet.
