The Things We Do For Family

Friday, August 14, 2015

Working nights has it's advantages. For instance, if I have an appointment during the day, I can simply adjust my sleep accordingly. I never have to request time off so my job doesn't suffer. However, sometimes I just can't make up the sleep I have to miss and I end up feeling like the walking dead. Which brings me to the trip I volunteered to go on tomorrow. My mom is making a trip down south to pick up my brother and bring him home for a visit. This trip is 6 hours round trip so we are heading out as soon as I get off work at 6 a.m. I should be back home around noon. That would be great but my boss also decided to have a mandatory staff meeting at 1:30 tomorrow. Ugh! I'm going to be so tired at work tomorrow night but I didn't want Mom making the trip alone.

I wish my boss would take the feelings of the 3rd shift employees into consideration. BCHARIE you're very lucky. And PRAIRIECROCUS, thanks so much

I too work nights, totally destroys my sleep. I think it's very insensitive of the boss to have a mandatory meeting during night shifters sleep tune. We approached our boss about this and she now does 2 meetings coming in at 5 a.m for night people
