Day 229

Monday, August 17, 2015

emoticon Today I weighed in at 249.6 emoticon No more 250's! Looks like those two pounds are really going to stay off! Total weight loss is 8 pounds! emoticon

emoticon It seems like yesterday I had all month to do stuff and now it's all due tomorrow!! Aahhhhh! I'm catching up getting things ready for school, but my oh my did it sneak up on me! My youngest DD is taking art lessons while oldest DD is in Essentials. I'm still very nervous about Essentials as I don't know what all I'm supposed to be doing. It's all so confusing. Maybe it will make more sense after the first day! At least I finally got everyone paid, so that is something.

emoticon I am a grouch this morning. I need more coffee emoticon. This happens when I sleep too late, I get super grouchy if I don't have 'me' time, nice and quiet. But once the girls get up it is anything but quiet! If you have girls, you know what I'm talking about! One of the reasons I get up super early most days is so that I can have quiet me time with a cup of coffee. Sometimes my youngest gets up, but she understands that Mommy wants quiet. I will not stay a grouch today. I will get in a better mood. I do not like being grouchy.

emoticon Rain all week. No pool time this week. I was hoping it would be like last time, sunny in the morning and rainy at night. Not so, it was raining when I got up. I love rain, maybe I'll let the kids get in their swimsuits and run around in it, as long as there isn't any lightening. I used to do that when I was a kid. Mom would get on her swimsuit too and we would go play and dance in the rain emoticon "I'm singing in the rain, just singing in the rain! What a glorious feeling I'm happy again!" emoticon

emoticon I finally cleaned out my bookshelves for homeschool! I've been meaning to do it all month, my table was stacked high with new school stuff and the bookshelf was overstuffed with last years stuff. I even cleaned off my personal shelf and reorganized everything. I got in the zone while I was cleaning last night. Need to work on my bedroom next.

emoticon What would you do with little knick knacks that friends had sent you? Each has a personal message written on it. But they are things like tiny pictures or glued books, all that take up way too much space. I don't have much space for things like that, and my dresser top has begun to overflow. Part of me wants to toss it. Maybe take pictures of it and put those pictures in my memory box. Part of me wants to box them up, keep them for when I'm older and will have space for such things. I don't know what to do, but I'm tired of all the clutter and I've been going through and throwing out a lot of things. We have so much clutter, lots of boxes of books (bookshelves broke moving here and we never bothered replacing them) and such. DH wants to get a rental storage space so we can put all of our clutter there. I want to get rid of all the clutter! I love books, but let's face it, if I want it I can get it on kindle much easier than going through all the boxes of books. *sigh* It's a nice problem to have though. I'm grateful for these kinds of 'problems'.

Okay, maybe I'm babbling now.

Oh! And I had to share, I found the most awesome website for free planner and anything you can think about making a planner for, checklists, you name it! Thought I'd share! It's not just for homeschoolers! And as long as you have your adblocker off, it's free! www.donnayoung.org/index

Oh, you make me want to go back to homeschooling - getting ready for a new year was always so much fun!

I take pictures of everything I want to "keep" - it's great to go through an old folder on the computer and find pics of knickknacks that had outlived their welcome. I had a favourite coffee mug that got cracked - I took a pic of it before throwing it out and now it brings a smile when I run across that photo in my files. I even printed it out and put it in an album (that mug had got me through a good many homeschool mornings, it was practically attached to my arm!)

Well done on getting to a new town -- emoticon emoticon
