Day 230

emoticon Today I weighed in at (Will update)

emoticon Today a dear friend is coming over for a lunch of Kung Pao Squash Noodles. She's very into healthy eating and has restricted her diet a lot. I wanted to show her that food can still be yummy, something I'm learning myself.

emoticon I'm loving my vegetable noodles and think they are some of the yummiest foods on Earth. But, you have to already like the vegetable you are eating or you won't like it. I grew up grazing the vegetable garden, strawberry patch, and orchard (though the orchard not as much, it wasn't very productive). I love all kinds of veggies. Though there are some I've still never tried (but want to!). I was that weird kid who loved veggies and disliked sweets and would rather raid the garden or vegetable bin rather than the cookie jar. I want to be that way again. I love veggies, and want to eat more of them.

emoticon I didn't work out yesterday. I don't know why, I just got wrapped up in the day. Today I got at just before 5. Since I planned on getting up at 0530 I didn't see any point in going back to bed. So now I have plenty of time to spend on devotional, Spark and coffee. I kinda like this, since I woke up on my own I'm not as groggy. I have to wait a while to work out, but at least I'll be wide awake! Going to switch out my workout video and do a different one this week. Gotta keep switching things up so my body does not get used to it!

emoticon I love Classical Conversations for homeschooling. I think it is neat and is pretty fun for the kids to learn. Until now. My oldest DD is moving up to the next step, and additional 2 hour class called Essentials. Whoever made the curriculum should be shot. I'm so confused. And there are so many acronyms, some have more than one acronym. The HBW is also the IEW. You learn from one book but do assignments from another book. I'm all kinds of ready to give up. And they say the first three weeks are the hardest. Oh joy. But that goes with the whole not giving up in front of my kids. We are going to tough it out. Hopefully, eventually it will start to make more sense. In the meanwhile, the copying part of my printer is being worn down, lol. Honestly they need to have one more binder that says "this is what you will really need during class" and make the copies for you!

Today I'm going to:
emoticon Work on my To Do List
emoticon Make Kung Pao Squash Noodles for lunch (plus something the kids will eat)
emoticon Work on Mount Laundry
emoticon Work on making sense of the tools for Essentials class
emoticon Find homes for the bulk items we bought that are still on the counter
emoticon Continue decluttering!

I have to add what a freeing experience it has been to declutter my homeschool bookshelf and my table. I love how organized it is now, and I only have what I need! I found the kids art kits and they found their paint by numbers they got last year. They have been coloring and painting like crazy. I've really enjoyed it. I'm discovering that they are old enough to do a lot of crafts on their own, so I can give them a boxed craft and have some quiet time for a while. I need to hit the store for more crafts! Anyway, decluttering is my new hobby. I love the free space and how clean this area looks, I can't wait to declutter more areas and feel this wonderful about other places in my house too!
