I haven't even wanted to write this.....

Wednesday, August 26, 2015

Hi guys,

It's been a few since I wrote a blog. I've been doing well and have lost 13 pounds of the 20 goal I've set for myself by September 28.

As you know I've had knee replacement in October, back discectomy in March and each time, it's been followed by physical therapy and a renewed fight to get my health back. I tend to push through to move forward but I've had a lot of hip pain in the opposite side of the new knee. Long story short, I've been walking around on a fractured hip for 5 months! I mean one hand, I'm a bad mamajama! But on the other hand I haven't done myself any good! So I'm ordered to do no weight bearing so cane, walker or wheelchair. I go back in 3 weeks and we will reevaluate. It's very discouraging and I'm trying hard to do dr. Orders so I can get better. Two steps forward one step back.

But I'm not giving up!!!

I hope your healing goes well. emoticon

You might try some of the Spark chair exercises, it's surprising how much of a workout they are.

You're amazing. And because you're amazing, you'll definitely come out of this with awesome results. I mean, look at how much of your goal you've already met with all you've been battling already! So you know you're going to just keep being sensible and do the right things for your total health. And maybe I'll learn more and more from you along the way. I'm pretty excited for you having gotten so far along with your goals! Good luck with the hip fixin' even though I know you won't need luck - you've got mamajama strength on your side!

    DAMNIT!!!
And wow you ARE a bad mamajama (damn again!).
I'm so sorry to hear about this injury. Crap!
Might I suggest the spark chair workouts while you're on the mend again? Don't throw things at me, I'm serious! It helped a lot after my surgery at Mayo Clinic last year. Just give it a shot when you're ready, ok? Who are we kidding, I know you, so I KNOW you're ready to move around, but just need dr approved options. Ok I will send you some of the links.

    Love and hugs my dear...

Amazing going losing weight while recovering! I know after I had surgery I struggled as I wanted to eat comforting heavy foods as I was in such a lot of pain.

Not giving up is THE biggest part of the battle.

So sorry to hear that bad news. But really glad to hear 2 good news: 1) you've lost 13 pounds (a huge accomplishment! Huge!!) and 2) You're committed to following dr.'s orders. I think the reason so many people don't heal is because they don't do this...they take short-cuts, so BRAVO to you for staying on track for 3 more weeks. You can do it. You'll be glad you did, too! Hang in there...I know you'll never give up. You're waaaay to strong to quit!
