Just a little update

Tuesday, September 08, 2015

OK, where do I start? I had to go off my liquid diet for a while because I ran out of money! Hope to get back on track today. I intend to modify it a bit and do a solid meal each day as well.

Exercise is out of the question for now except my arms. My knee is so far gone that I must use two canes to walk. I have an appointment with a specialist on the 22 of September.

Anyway it had been a very long time since I had posted so I thought a quick update was in order

Sorry this is so short...not really much to tell. I am still struggling with depression and that makes everything harder but I have to keep going for my husband. I am pretty much to the point that if it was just me I would rather be dead but I have to keep going for him.

I would really appreciate your thoughts and prayers as once again I try to get my life back together

A lot of people have depression and that makes life challenging. You are worth the effort you put into every day just getting out of bed. Chronic pain does not improve your mood so I hope you get your knees fixed soon. I see my patients outlook on life improve so much after knee replacement. Prayers and blessings. May the Lord and angels help to lift your soul to your happy healthy place in your mind. Blogging helps some if you can manage and do not mind sharing and remember there are easy chair exercises that you can do that will help get your blood pumping which will help your depression. (((hugs)))

It isn't an easy thing to struggle with the serious issues you face, but there is always a way to improve. Determine to change one thing and stick with it for a few weeks so it becomes second nature. Once you have that under control, add another thing, then another, and so on. Small steps really do make a difference. It's a good thing that you're going to a specialist. My thoughts and best wishes are with you.

Depression is so tough and I hope you continue to hang in there. I have been praying for you and I know you are in the thoughts of many helping to send some strength to you. I know we are happy you have your DH there. Continue to keep in touch with you health issues. I can totally understand the pain and inability to get around. Have you tried the chair exercises? You may be able to do some of them. Work those arms as you need the strength in them. My DH & I are caring for my 89 yr. old mom right now and she is one stubborn lady but after breaking an arm and leg in March, she is finally using a walker and doing fairly well with it and therapy that continues. I need the arm strength for her. So I know the effort we can put into upper body to keep going!!

Sending you healing thoughts & prayers that things improve soon for you. Take one day at a time. Do what you can even if its just a few minutes. They do start to add up, & you will start to get stronger. Ask Archangel Raphael to wrap his healing emerald green light around you. I pray that things improve for you. Never give up, miracles happen every day.

Just posting this blog is a great way to keep going. Not only for your husband but for yourself. I have OA in both my knees and losing weight is so difficult, but I am still hanging on and refuse to quit. I have a walker that I use to get around the house in and it folds up easily so I can take it with me when I go out. Remember one day at a time. How long did it take to put the extra lbs on? Well, don't expect overnight loss. Try for one lb a week and that turns into 52 lbs and that is a start.

My thoughts, my step dad use to tell me that everyday you wake up and get out of bed is a good day. Positive thinking came hard to me. Check out tut.com. Notes from the Universe. They always make me feel a little better. The thing with your leg is rough and I am sorry you are having to go through that. My dad had MS and I watched him go from a man who enjoyed the outdoors, working on his car and going places to a man who was stuck in a wheel chair and couldn't walk or even feel his arms when he got burned. He was in a lot of pain but never once did he complain to me anyways. He always had a joke to tell me and always joked around with everyone, even the nurses and doctors in the hospital.
Both my dad and step dad are gone now. I didn't understand how my step dad could think every day you wake up and get out of bed is a good day til the day he didn't wake up and get out of bed. I was there the night he died with my mom and the nurse told me, not my mom, that he wasn't going to last much longer, to call who I thought needed to be there. I told my mom a few seconds before he passed to tell him what she wanted to say and she said I love you and I will miss you always.
My dad was in rehab from a heart issue and was suppose to be coming home. He was at the breakfast table at the rehab place and had a massive heart attack. He died there and even if the best heart surgeon in the world had been there he still would of died. The night before he told me he thought he was going to die and I told him that he was going home and he wasn't going to die. But I knew different, I could feel it too, it was like death was in the air. I drove home from the rehab crying all the way home.
What I learned from losing both of the men that were fathers to me, is that life is precious and no matter what is wrong with us physically there is always someone out there that has it worse. So I try to get up each day and see it as a good day and I try to always remind myself that no matter how bad I think I have it, it could be so much worse. I try to see each problem as a challenge to overcome and to not let it overcome me and get me down. I try to find the positive in any situation.
No, it isn't easy but the time we have here is so precious and goes by so fast. How we spend that time is up to us. We can spend it being depressed by all that is wrong with us and the world or we can look at what is wrong with us, be glad it isn't worse and find a way to make it better if we can. If we can't make it better then remember we are never given a burden that we can't carry and that how we feel and act about our problems affects those that love us, our friends and family.
You are important, you matter to people out there and here.

Oh Kat, sometimes, we need a good reason to keep going, like you have your beloved husband. Your specialist can give you some good help I hope and your knees can one day feel better and that can really help with your overall feeling too, if one has less pain. I'll be thinking of you so much. emoticon emoticon emoticon

so glad you gave us an update even if it is a short one. sorry to hear you are having problems with your knees and your continuing depression. so many of us suffer from the same things you do. please continue to keep your faith in Jesus and thinking of your husband. i have been through many difficulties in my life and still continue with them...i keep with my faith and i continue to pray to Jesus and ask for his help as i cannot deal with things alone and i'm asking for understanding of things. i have found out praying and keeping faith has resulted in many answers. i'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers as i have all along. Hugs to you my Spark Friend. if you need to vent or talk feel free to send me spark mail as it is private. keep you chin up and smile no matter what. i must go right now as i have to get ready to go to a meeting.
    Hugs Sweetie. emoticon emoticon

I'm sorry to hear you are not feeling up to par and the depression has once again set in. Are you on meds and in counseling to help yourself? As far as exercising I can't get on the floor because of a knee replacement. Instead I bought a long resistant band one that I can hook around my leg while lying in bed. The resistant band can be pulled from your arms to do most of the work but it will help keep your legs limbered up and still get you some exercise. I hope this suggestion will be helpful to you. Hang in there. If you need to chat back and form feel free to message me via the mailbox on here okay? Hugs & prayers.
